“Thailand” is an original artwork measuring 30cm x 46cm. It is mounted on foam core and unframed. This original piece of art was made in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I was visiting friends.
The techniques I used are airbrush, coloured pencil and lead pencil. The listed price is for unframed work. If interested in having this unique art piece being framed, please contact me for framing options and prices.
In all of my collages, I cut out some of my previously airbrushed Lotuses. I also add pencil and coloured pencil drawing.
Before embarking on my trips, I pack a small portfolio, which fits into the bottom of my suitcase. In it, I place paper, previously painted Lotuses, coloured pencils, scissors and glue.
Lotuses symbolize an awakening, spiritual growth, and enlightenment. During visits to Hawai’i, Thailand and more recently India, I worked on a series of Lotus collages. While in Hawai’i, I finished 4 collages and 7 during a later trip to Thailand (2015). In India, I created 5 collages. Prior to my trips, I painted more than 100 Lotuses.
“Thailand” is an original artwork created during my marvelous visit to “the Land of Smiles”.
Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, after my flight from Bangkok, my friends were at the airport waiting to pick me up. Their beautiful home is about 1/2 hour away, in the hills. On the road leading out of the city are many rice fields. Further along as you drive up the mountain, the road becomes very windy, There are many tourist attractions along the way such as the elephant camp, a waterfall, several resorts, a “chic” ashram, botanical gardens etc. A lovely visit to this gorgeous country!
