Description
This original airbrushed painting on paper shows Lotuses expresses an awakening, spiritual growth, and enlightenment
I used mainly yellow, grey, lime green, pink, purple, red and turquoise, in this art work.
The effect of airbrush is integral to the feeling that I’m attempting to achieve. That is the feeling of floating in air.
In my visits to South east Asia and India, I was overwhelmed by the colours and textures of the natural surroundings, textiles and craft pieces. The rituals of both the Buddhist and Hindu religions were at once humbling and mind-boggling at the same time.
As a result, since my first trip to India, the theme of my art work shifted from stones to the Lotus blossom. In Hinduism and in Buddhism, the lotus flower represents purity of body, mind, and spirit.
