Description
“Kerala Lotus collage” was created during my visit to Kerala, India, in March. Along with airbrushed Lotuses I added coloured pencil drawing which represents the shibori stitching I’ve been working on. During this year’s trip to India, I visited with some Facebook friends, whom are involved in natural dyes and textiles.
This abstract collage is a unique art piece
In all of my collages, I cut out some of my previously airbrushed Lotuses. I also add pencil and coloured pencil drawing.
Before embarking on my trips, I pack a small portfolio. This fits into the bottom of my suitcase. In it, I place paper, previously painted Lotuses, coloured pencils, scissors and glue.
The listed price is for unframed work. Framing options are available. If interested in having this unique art piece framed, please contact me for prices.
This collage shows the stepping stone in my artwork, moving from airbrush paintings of Lotuses to full time work with natural dyes and shibori resist techniques on fabric
During recent visits to Hawai’i, Thailand and India, I worked on a series of collages. My theme of choice is the Lotus flower. While in Hawai’i, I finished 4 collages and 7 during a later trip to Thailand (2015). Prior to my trips, I painted more than 100 Lotuses. In the midst of my memorable time, in India, in 2016, I completed 5 collages. During my most recent trip to this amazing country of India, I created 2 collages.
This unique art piece was created in Chowara, which is located in the state of Kerala.
