“Interwoven Flight” is a one-of-a-kind artwork digitally printed on my own naturally dyed and eco-printed fabrics. The imagery layers my original textile works, photography, and painting into a single composition.
Description
“Interwoven Flight” is a mixed media wall art piece. Two origami butterflies, folded from my naturally dyed fabrics, anchor the composition at the top and bottom. Their three-dimensional presence brings the monarch’s migratory arc into physical space. Throughout the work are running stitches in white and pale blue, tracing paths across the surface. These lines echo the monarch’s long north-to-south journey, mapping routes of motion and memory. The piece brings together photography, dye work, stitching, and sculptural elements to reflect the endurance, fragility, and layered beauty of pollinators in migration.
The result is a richly textured piece that bridges natural process and digital expression.
This artwork is mounted on felt and placed over a foam-core backing. The edges wrap around the board and are secured with lace stitching across the back. This work is unframed to allow you to choose your own presentation style. Or, it may be displayed as is.
