Functional Fine Crafts

Functional fine crafts are all about technique and quality. They can also be viewed as art objects. Often these works are intended for regular use.

The term applied art is used as these objects are created for a useful purpose and are visually appealing. It includes:

-table linens

-clothing

-furniture

-jewellery

-lighting

-dishes

Even door knobs and dresser pulls fit the category of functional fine crafts.

In general, this work is made by hand, focuses on technique and takes time to create. Many of these pieces are one-of-a-kind, which makes them even more special and unique.

Handmade items are generally more expensive than store bought, but are worth the investment.
